Medical Assisting Certificate

The Medical Assisting Program at Red Rocks Community College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).

Students completing the program will be considered competent in, cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains and will be eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Students who enroll in this rigorous program are required to complete 28.5 semester hours of credit for the certificate program. For the AAS (Associate Degree in Applied Science) Degree, which students receive, both the certificate accredited by CAAHEP and the AAS through Red Rocks Community College will require 60 credits of completion. Our Medical Assisting AAS Degree meets all Colorado state accreditation requirements. Medical Assisting students pay a fee that, upon completing their internship, will be used to register them to sit for their AAMA certification exam (AAMA.org) Due to the lofty standards and qualified instructors, Red Rocks Medical Assisting program students to pass above the national average.

RRCC is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools), and its programs are approved by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education and Colorado Community College System. Accreditation is a process used to measure and certify the credibility and quality of services offered by an organization.
